Red Owl Academy was founded by Liana Sargsyan-Quinn, an educator with over 20 years of teaching experience in Schools and Universities. Liana’s commitment to education is supported by her extensive academic background and international experience.
She graduated with honors from Yerevan State Linguistic University in Armenia, where she taught French for 10 years. She furthered her studies in International Relations and Foreign Policy at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and earned an MA in Business Communications from Baruch College (CUNY).
Liana’s academic journey also took her abroad, where she studied extensively in France, Belgium, Italy, Bulgaria, and Macedonia. This diverse exposure to different cultures and educational systems enriched her approach to teaching and inspired her to create Red Owl Academy. Fluent in four languages, Liana is dedicated to fostering a multicultural and inclusive learning environment.
Along with her husband and two daughters, she enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures, bringing a global perspective to the academy.

At Red Owl Academy, we tailor our teaching to meet the unique abilities of each child, ensuring that every student feels capable and successful. Our approach allows us to support children at their own pace, helping them develop a positive self-image and a love for learning.
Our learning process is a direct reflection of our community, focusing on helping children become caring, respectful, and active members of society. The curriculum includes integrated units, projects, group work, individual activities, and more to encourage active learning.
The STEAM education develops analytical thinking in children, as well as the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
We are excited to introduce French as a foreign language at Red Owl Academy. We use the QTALK method, a teaching approach based on a series of icons that represent complex sentences from the very first lesson. This method is designed to actively engage students in the learning process. It allows children to produce complete sentences from the very beginning. This method boosts confidence and accelerates language acquisition at a young age.
The half-day session at Red Owl Academy runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The full-day session operates from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Yes, before care is available from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM, providing early drop-off for families who need it.
Yes, we offer after care from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, extending the day for families requiring later pick-up.
Yes, your child can attend both before care and after care. This allows the parents to choose flexible schedules that best fit their family's needs.
The Red Owl Academy After School Program provides a safe and structured environment for your child to socialize, learn new skills, and receive homework assistance. It also offers opportunities for physical activity, creativity, and personal growth.
The program is run by a team of experienced and dedicated staff members who are committed to providing a high-quality experience for all participants. All staff members undergo background checks and receive training in child development, safety, and first aid.
I couldn’t be happier sending my daughter here! I’m sure there’s plenty of great schools in the area but nothing compares to Red Owl in my opinion. I feel confident when my daughter is at school she is being loved as a family member and not just as a random kid in a class. Miss Elizabeth and Miss Liana are FANTASTIC at helping each child with different needs and helping them grow. My daughter now knows a bit of French, does yoga and knows how to plant and grow her own food. I cannot wait until my son can have his turn here.

Red Owl Academy has been an amazing place for my son. The teachers are loving and create a safe, happy environment for their students. The days are spent with creative projects, cooking, French class, nature walks, outdoor play, gardening and so much more. It has been a wonderful experience for my son, he has learned and grown so much over the year. I can’t say enough about this incredible learning environment and it’s dedicated teachers.

My son attended Red Owl Academy for two years. Sadly, he graduated this week and is off to Kindergarten. I wish he could stay here forever. I absolutely LOVE this school, the director and teachers. Looking at it from the perspective of both, an always anxious parent ( and in general, person, that’s just me!) as well as a primary grade teacher. I always felt my child was in great hands, was never worried and knew he was learning so much every day. Not only was he learning, but he was learning in the most unique, amazing ways. There was no pencil and paper learning here…this was all learning through thinking and doing and problem solving. It was all STEM and STEAM, cooking, French classes, group play, stories, singing, nature walks, projects, too much to name but each day I saw it all because the teachers sent countless pictures of what my little boy was up to and it made me so happy to see him so happy and learning. I am so sad to say goodbye to this incredible school. No other school will come close to the cleanliness of this school either. They did not allow outdoor shoes to enter the classroom or play area so the children did not come in contact with the germs and dirt from anyone’s shoes and after what’s happened these last few months, that has quadrupled in importance. This school is a gem in more ways than I can name. Graduation Day was a happy day but also a day I dreaded since the day we all fell in love with Red Owl Academy.

Red Owl Academy is the perfect place for my three-year-old. Here’s why I love it: IT’S SAFE–safety is key for me as a parent; I want my child to be in places where he is safe and feels safe. This is that place. IT’S NURTURING–my son is loved and cared for here. He also loves his teachers and fellow students. IT’S CREATIVE–they don’t do narrow activities like filling out worksheets, but are more free and active in their learning experiences. He brings home very creative projects and I LOVE COOKING DAY! On Thursdays, the class cooks together, and it’s something different every week. They have aprons, cutting boards, and (dull) knives to participate in it all! IT’S AN INCREDIBLE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT–my son comes home with new vocabulary every day; when we experience something at home (like a praying mantis), the teachers give us resources to enrich the experience like books. Further, the kids and teachers get their hands dirty together by planting seeds that grow into food to eat! IT’S INTEGRATIVE–at preschool, everything comes together as they learn by hearing, reading, speaking, touching, experiencing–nothing could be better!

My son has been with Red Owl Academy for over a year. He is a completely different Child from when he started till now he has come so far! He is so independent and well behaved. They have helped him grow into an amazing talented little boy. The teacher that they have on staff Erica Mazzeo-Cavaroc, is AMAZING! She is so talented and creative and nurturing she has brought out the true artist in my son Ronin! He loves The projects that Erica comes up with she has inspired him to create and find his love and talent as an Artist and also his voice he talks so much now…In the beginning I had a really hard time separating from my son and I was so worried he Was so Young and attached to me. Liana reassured me that they had a very caring teacher on staff Erica was so sweet and loving and attentive to his needs that it completely took all my worries away. Liana the director of the school even taught him French! Wonderful staff I can’t say enough I would recommend the school 100%
